Jerry Slater, MD

Radiation Oncologist

Dr. Slater is a board certified radiation oncologist.  He is Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiation Medicine, Loma Linda University School of Medicine, and Medical Director and Director of Clinical Affairs for the department at Loma Linda University Medical Center.

 

Dr. Slater received his M.D. degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and also completed his postgraduate internship in internal medicine there.  He completed his residency training in radiation oncology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston followed by a fellowship in radiation oncology with an emphasis on proton therapy at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard Cyclotron Laboratory, Boston.

 

Dr. Slater was instrumental in helping to establish the first hospital-based proton treatment center, working alongside Dr. James Slater.  Since its inception, his primary responsibilities have been in the development of clinical applications and treatment protocols of protons in many benign and malignant diseases.  He has been an attending physician in the Department of Radiation Medicine at Loma Linda University Medical Center since 1987, and became the department Chair in 2001.

Ivan Namihas, MD

Radiation Oncologist

Dr. Namihas is a board certified radiation oncologist.  He is Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology, Department of Radiation Medicine, Loma Linda University School of Medicine.

 

Dr. Namihas received his M.D. degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine.  He fulfilled his internship at the University Medical Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, and his residency in radiation oncology at Loma Linda University Medical Center.  He has been an attending physician in the Department of Radiation Medicine at Loma Linda University Medical Center since 1988.
